Deajeon & Brisbane

Deajeon is located in the middle of South Korea. I have lived there since I was born. I spent almost all time in my life in there before I came here, Brisbane.

There are a few similarities between Deajeon and Brisbane. Both are one of the big cities in each country and are modernised but there are more differences than similarities.

Compared with Brisbane, Deajeon is much smaller, but more crowded. It means there aren't many places to live, do something in their spare times. Because of this, Deajeon has many tall buildings to live and work in. Deajeon is always busy and in a hurry. However, Brisbane is much more slower than Deajeon, for example, it takes more time to build a house, install the internet and so on, so people look like more relaxed, comfortable and easy-going. In addition, there are many people from other countries in Brisbane(like me), although in Deajeon only a few persons who from other countries live there. It's hard to see foreigners in there, if I don't go to some particular area where they get togher. As a result, Brisbane is a lot more multicultural than Deajeon.

Another difference is the order of seasons. When Deajeon is in winter, Brisbane is in summer like that and in Brisbane, the sun is much stronger than in Deajeon. It is essential to put sunscreen everyday in Brisbane and people usually wear sunglasses while they are walking on the street. However, it is a special thing to wear sunglasses in Deajeon. People usually wear it only at the beach or some particular occasions.

Mostly, the transport systems of both cities are similar. Nevertheless, in Brisbane they use a ferry as a means of transportation but not in Deajeon. Also in Deajeon they take a subway but not in Brisbane.

So, there are many differences between Deajeon and Brisbane. If we pay more attention to these, we can find more things like that.

My hero

Myung bo Hong is a famous soccer player in Korea. I want to call him The legend of all soccer players.
Not just me, many people remember him like that.

Actually, I don't like sports too much (maybe like most women), but when I was interested in soccer, he was the first player who I paid attention to.

He had played for 13 years as a member of the Korean national team, and he participated in 4 World cups. The last was Korea-Japan World cup, in which Korean national team got to the semi-finals.
It was first time we had got that level, so all koreans was so excited. That was completely amazing time in Korean soccer history. At that time, he was the captain of our team. If he hadn't been there, it would have been impossible to get to that level.

He is calm but very strong. He has leadership to lead all of the players in our team, and he made them do thier best and the best teamwork together.

When I read his biography, I really was impressed with him again. One of those things I still remember is his motto, 一心. It means to concentrate on the one thing. For him, the one thing was soccer. He said he has always thought about a soccer and done his best.
He is retired now, but he is still working for Korean soccer.

I will remember him and all the people who love Korea soccer will as well.

Story about trip

When we travel, I think there are three important things. Those are to meet good people, good timing and to make a good plan.

When I did the trip with my friend, that those three conditions.
During a trip, we went to a mountain. At the mountain, there was a temple that was quiet big and had many temples and small ponds in it. It was a pretty good place.

After we looked around the temple, we went to a restaurant on the mountain. They had been selling their local food. When we were eating it, someone came in.
He was a directer buddhist of the temple we had gone to before.
And he said, "Why don't you eat breakfast in the temple at next morning. After that If you call me, I'll give you some tea." And then he gave us his number.
I thought 'What a great suggest!!!' so we decided to accept it.

Next morning, we visited his room after we had finished a delicious free breakfast. He gave us green tea that he had planted before and he suggested to go to look at the top of the mountain.
He said that a sight was really beautiful so he brought us there by his car.
As he said, there was really good place with fresh air and cool wind. We could see a good sight like a picture in the calendar.

Thanks for his favour, our trip was more impressive and more memorable.
We were so lucky to meet him!!
